About Us

We are thrilled to offer an exceptional choral experience for talented young singers aged 6 to 18. Our program is designed to cultivate their musical abilities, foster a love for singing, and provide a supportive community for their artistic growth.

We believe in the transformative power of music and its ability to inspire, educate, and bring people together. Our dedicated team of experienced choral directors and vocal coaches is committed to nurturing the musical talents of each individual while instilling a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie.

2023-2024 Program

The Youth Choir invites young singers on an exciting musical journey. Every week, participants will gather to engage in dynamic rehearsals that focus on vocal technique, music theory, sight-reading, and ensemble skills. Through a diverse repertoire encompassing various genres and styles, choir members will explore a wide range of musical expressions and develop their interpretive abilities.

Choirs:

• Mini Melodies (Ages 6-8): Our Mini Melodies choir is specially designed for our youngest singers, aged 6 to 8. In this fun and engaging ensemble, children will discover the joy of singing through age-appropriate repertoire, playful vocal exercises, and interactive musical activities. Led by our experienced instructors, Mini Melodies creates a nurturing environment where young voices can flourish and develop a strong foundation in choral singing.
• Junior Harmonies (Ages 9-11): The Junior Harmonies choir welcomes singers aged 9 to 11, providing them with a more challenging and dynamic musical experience. Participants will explore a wider range of musical genres, develop their vocal techniques, and delve into the world of harmonies. Through collaborative rehearsals and performances, Junior Harmonies fosters a sense of unity and teamwork, allowing young singers to build confidence and express their unique musical voices.
• Teen Voices (Ages 12-14): Our Teen Voices choir is designed for singers aged 12 to 14 who are ready to take their vocal skills to the next level. Participants in this ensemble will engage in more advanced vocal training, explore complex choral arrangements, and tackle a diverse repertoire that spans various musical genres. With a focus on musical expression and vocal maturity, Teen Voices provides a supportive environment for young singers to develop their individual artistry while building strong connections with their peers.
• Senior Chorale (Ages 15-18): For our older and more experienced singers aged 15 to 18, we offer the Senior Chorale. This advanced ensemble provides an immersive choral experience, challenging participants to explore sophisticated repertoire, master complex vocal techniques, and refine their musical interpretation. Led by our expert choral directors, the Senior Chorale cultivates artistic excellence and prepares singers for future endeavors in music, whether it be college programs or professional pursuits.

Training Sessions

The youth choir meets on Tuesdays or Thursdays in Getzville, NY. Our training sessions are carefully structured to provide a balance of vocal training, choral repertoire practice, and performance preparation. Through engaging exercises and activities, members will develop their vocal range, breath control, harmonization skills, and more.

We believe in fostering a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among the choir members. Regular rehearsals not only help refine individual skills but also promote ensemble singing, musical interpretation, and stage etiquette. Our goal is to create an enjoyable and enriching experience for all participants.

Audition Requirements

New members are required to audition for placement in the appropriate group. Auditions will be conducted by our choral directors and vocal coaches. The audition requirements are as follows:

Mini Melodies (Ages 6-8)

• Participate in a brief vocal range assessment to determine the suitable choir placement. 

All other ages:

• Prepare and perform a solo piece of your choice (1-2 minutes in length) that showcases your vocal abilities.
• Demonstrate basic music reading skills by sight-reading a short musical excerpt provided during the audition.

Please note that auditions are meant to assess your current skill level and ensure proper placement within our program. We encourage all aspiring singers to audition, regardless of prior experience.

Performance Opportunities

Throughout the year, we organize various concerts, recitals, and community events where our choir members have the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences.

These performances not only serve as a platform for our singers to gain confidence and stage experience but also allow them to share their love for music with others. We believe in the transformative power of music and the joy it brings to both performers and listeners.

Registration, Fees, and Contact Information

Registrations for the Youth Choir are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Registration Fee: $25 (required at the time of registration)

Semester Fees: $225  (paid in advance within the first week of rehearsals)

The Fall Semester will start in September and end in January.

The Spring Semester will start in February and end in June.
